Winter Skin Care Tips

Posted in skin care physicians on 29.02.12 by Merlyn

Those who are obsessed about their skin dread the winter a lot. The biting cold causes the lips to crack and the skin to chap. So they look dull and miserable.

The winter skin care advice you are about to read will help you to prepare to nourish, protect and provide for your skin during the coldest time of the year.

The winter skin care advice tips you are about to read will help you to protect, provide for and nourish your skin during the coldest time of year.

Your skin needs to remain hydrated, and when you do this, you help build your strength of your skin’s cells. Before anything, drink water, and drink plenty of it.

During the summer, we are more prone to take care of our skin because of the constant need for topical relief measures such as sunscreen and insect repellent.

Better switch to oil based moisture to hold the moisture on the surface. It will help to maintain moisture level on the skin.

The cold winter air tends to constrict the skin making it tighter and somewhat less porous. This can hamper your skins natural oil production to some degree.

Another important part of the tegument process in winter is sunscreen. You need it as much in winter as in summer. You’ll need a sunscreen with high protection factor, like 30, and use it on every part of the body.

Avoid Using Soap: Do not use soap; it makes your skin dry. Instead, apply a paste of green gram powder or moisturizing cleanser regularly for that soft and supple skin.

Water is a very important part to do right in the wintertime. Washing temperature when you are inside is not the only important thing.

For the sensitive skin around the eyes, use an eye cream or a vitamin E one percent cream. If you prefer a natural moisturizer, you could use aloe vera extract around the eyes.

Wrap up warm when you venture outside, wear a scarf that you can pull up over your cheeks. This not only protects the skin from the sun, but also from the bitter wind and harsh elements.

To treat any of those very dry, scaly patches that might develop, use a petroleum based product on the affected areas before bed.

Those winter winds are harsh – there’s no getting around this fact. Still, you can fight the brutal hands of Mother Nature with just a few quick skin care tips. Remember to moisturize, drink plenty of water, eat the right fruits, and to use top natural products.

Your hands should be properly protected. Wear gloves to keep them covered and warm. Moisturize then regularly with natural oils and keep them protected.

Since dry weather depletes your skin of moisture it is important to maintain skin hydration. In order to do this you need to use moisturizers that inhibit natural loss of moisture from the skin.

However cold it is outside, it is important that we dress in layers so that we do not overheat and sweat excessively. With layers you can easily take something off if you become too warm.Avoid skin treatments that will exfoliate or strip the skin of essential oils if possible.

The Multiple Benefits of Natural Ingredients

Posted in skin care physicians on 28.02.12 by Merlyn

An organic moisturizer is formulated with ingredients that help to hydrate the skin and at the same time revitalise it thus leaving it extremely soft and supple. The combinations of diverse organic ingredients ensure that the skin is moisturised effectively. Hand and body lotions prove to be extremely beneficial when they are absorbed into the skin. The application of natural ingredients implies that there is adequate moisture to keep the skin soft.

A large number of these natural beauty products are made up of ingredients such as shea butter, sesame oil, aloe vera gel, centella asiatica extracts, evening primrose oil and grapeseed extract. These are in absolute contrast to the conventional beauty products and creams available in the market that are more or less petroleum based products and comprise chemical additives. These often end up making the skin dry and clog the pores.

Most of the organic moisturisers comprise of the above-mentioned ingredients. Here is a quick check of the multiple benefits of each of these ingredients:

Evening Primrose Oil:

It contains a high level of GLA or gamma linoleic acid. It possesses anti-inflammatory properties and is therefore appropriate for use by people who suffer from skin conditions such as eczema. Primrose oil has been widely used as key ingredient in wound therapy and it is famous for its effects when it comes to maintaining the vitality of the skin.

Aloe Vera:

Aloe Vera has been in use since centuries and this fact is substantiated by recorded evidence. It is a vital ingredient in traditional medicine. It has diverse health benefits as it boasts of anti-fungal and antibacterial properties. It is therefore quite effective in healing skin infections such as psoriasis, rashes, boils and cysts. It has a soothing effect on burns and thus helps to heal damaged skin. The regular application of aloe vera rich cream creates a sort of a moisturising barrier that helps to guard the skin against natural elements such as winds and the harmful rays of the sun and dirt and pollution.

Centella Asiatica:

It is commonly used to treat wounds as it has antiviral, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.

Sesame Oil:

The oil is high in Vitamin E, acts as a vital source of omega-6 fatty acids, and is a powerful antioxidant. It has extremely high moisturising properties.

Grapeseed Extract:

Grapeseed extract is derived by the method of pressing grape seeds. It has an extremely high concentration of antioxidants that reduce the damage wrought by free radicals. It improves the elasticity of the skin.

Shea Butter:

Shea butter is made from the extract of the nut obtained from the African Shea tree. It acts as an excellent moisturiser. It has multiple benefits and is chiefly used for preventing skin discoloration, wrinkles, scarring, rashes, burns, psoriasis and eczema.

These natural ingredients are known for their multiple benefits. These minimise the scars and help in healing the skin. They increase antioxidant action considerably and at the same time dramatically decrease the signs of aging. The skin is protected against the onslaught of bacteria and viruses.

Here’s A Natural Treatment For Acne You Absolutely Must Try…

Posted in skin care physicians on 27.02.12 by Merlyn

The natural treatment for acne I’m about to reveal to you can help you treat and minimize acne breakouts by controlling the production of excess androgens.

Controlling the production of excess androgens is important to preventing and treating acne because cause excess androgens cause excess sebum oil to clog your hair follicle.

This can worsen your acne condition by causing pimples to swell bigger and spreading the infection.

So what will you need for this natural treatment?

Well you only need to consume about three ingredients that can prevent excess androgens. More specifically, three essential fatty acids.

Here they are:

  • Omega – 3
  • Omega – 6
  • Omega – 9

Getting enough of these three essential fatty acid are crucial to clear skin because they will:

  • Reduce sebum production
  • Reduce the size of sebaceous glands
  • Speed up the healing process of acne
  • Improve skin health
  • And prevent inflammations

Where can these three essential fatty acids be found?

Omega-3 can be found in the following foods:

  • Wheat germs
  • Sardines
  • Pumpkin seeds (also contains omega-6)
  • Avocados (also contains omega-9)
  • Albacore tuna
  • Sesame seeds
  • Walnuts
  • Spinach

Omega-6 And Omega-9 can be found in these foods:

  • Evening primrose oil
  • Olive oil
  • Flaxseeds or flaxseed oil
  • Chicken
  • Canola oils
  • Sunflower oils

And of course, I’m not saying you have to consume these oils by itself. Mix it in with other foods such as salad, soup, cereal, etc.

Just one or two tablespoon a day of one of these oils will provide you with enough of the essential fatty acids.

If you want a food source that contains all omega-3, 6, and 9 then consider consuming nuts such as:

  • Walnuts,
  • Cashews
  • Almonds
  • Pecans
  • Peanuts
  • Hazelnuts
  • Macadamia nuts
  • Pistachios nuts

And if you don’t want to eat any of these foods then there’s always the supplement route. And to make it even easier, just find a supplement that contains all three essential fatty acids.

The body gets tired and needs some relaxation, but the bad thing is you don’t have time to relax your body. But the good thing is there are so many day spas that can help you with this. A few hours at the spa will not only intensify your beauty but will also give your body relaxation against the busy and tiring schedule that you have been through throughout the entire week. There is nothing the world better than this. A day at a spa fills the entire body with renewed energy and power and keeps you glowing. ‘Vinegar Warts’ – Why Chose Natural Remedies Over Wart Laser Removal

Posted in skin care physicians on 26.02.12 by Merlyn

Hands and feet are particularly prone to the growth of calluses, corns and warts. While calluses and corns are the localised thickening of the skin due to pressure, warts are different, resulting from the action of the ‘human papilloma virus’.

Typically, warts are shiny raised areas of the skin, usually circular or oval in shape, and they also look somewhat blistery. Wart laser removal is an ideal method for eliminating warts on hands, as well as other parts of the body.

An advantage of laser treatments is that it is a relatively rapid and painless way of eliminating warts, although there are some disadvantages as well – there usually are!

Among the few disadvantages I can see is the potential for scarring and the likely ‘re-birth’ of the wart, as laser treatments, while removing the wart, often leave the virus inside the skin. Since warts are highly contagious, warts on the hands need to be thoroughly eliminated, in order to prevent the wart from spreading all over the body as well as to others by handshake.

As well, laser treatments can be quite expensive. In order to be reasonably sure that the wart will not re-occur, this usually requires 3 sittings, in which case the total cost can be as much as $400 USD or more.

Sometimes, there are warts, which appear over-sensitive to apple cider vinegar. This provides a particularly easy and successful way to remove these vinegar warts, without the usual problems of scarring and most other disadvantages of the laser treatments. In order to test, whether the lesion belongs to this special type, one has to apply a drop of this vinegar to the wart. If the lesion turns white, then it is a vinegar wart and can be successfully removed by an appropriate application of the vinegar.

While apple cider vinegar appears particularly useful in treating many skin lesions, there are a number of other home remedies and treatments worth exploring. Increasingly, there is recognition, that some of these ‘natural remedies’ can produce surprisingly rapid and complete outcome, with the added advantage that they can be applied at home, at little or no cost.

Many of these natural or everyday substances (such as various fruit extracts, tea-tree oil, salicylic acid to name a few) can have a drastic healing effect on warts, moles and skin tags. There are many natural healing substances, often the result of centuries of experimentation by individuals. However, there are many different types of warts and moles; their nature usually determined by the skin type and chemistry of the individual. Therefore, it is necessary to experiment with these substances until the substance and treatment can be found which is just right for one’s skin type.

There are occasions, when the wart requires substantial intervention. For these cases, it is best to consult a dermatologist. There are a number of alternative treatments that can be applied, although these are also quite expensive, due to advanced treatment methods and equipment carried out by the skin specialist.

One such treatment is cryotherapy, or freezing of the wart by applying liquid nitrogen to it. There is also the possibility of surgical excision. This is quite a painful procedure carried out under local anaesthetics.

These drastic treatments are only applied to serious cases, such as large modular warts, and should be avoided if possible. It is also likely, that surgical excision, or cutting, can leave a permanent scar, but this can not be easily avoided in some cases.

Finally, many of the natural wart removal techniques and substances, only indicated in this article, are now available in my detailed and easy-to-read guide. For the first time, it is available in the form of a cheap electronic eBook, downloadable in minutes.

Simple Tricks On How To Cure Acne

Posted in skin care physicians on 26.02.12 by Merlyn

Acne is a skin disorder that mainly occurs in young people, but it’s not uncommon to make its appearance even at the age of thirty or forty. The condition can be considered the result of the inflammation of the small sebaceous follicles that happens due to the presence of bacteria, endocrine influences and also due to psychological causes (emotional stress) and diet. This skin disorder usually reaches its peak between the ages of 13 and 17 and generally improves after the age of 20. In some cases it may last until the age of 30 or 40.

The types:

* Acne vulgaris: comedones are accompanied by pustules (commonly known as pimples) and even cysts. The lesions occur primarily on the face and upper arms. It affects mostly adolescents and young adults, but in the10-20% of cases the problem may continue into late adulthood.
* Gram-negative folliculitis: it is an infection that may occur as a complication in patients with acne vulgaris and in people who have received broad-spectrum antibiotics. The pimples appear primarily in the area around the nose.
* Cosmetic acne is caused by cosmetics that contain ingredients, which are considered comedogenic and can block the skin pores. For example, mineral oil and cocoa butter can have that effect.
* Acne rosacea: the pustules appear mainly in the central area of the face. This type of is accompanied by the enlargement of the sebaceous glands. It affects mainly adults and is more common in women. Interestingly, the tendency to blush seems to be a predisposing factor. Rosacea can also cause potentially dangerous inflammation of the eyes, if it becomes a chronic condition.
* Perioral dermatitis: it is a disorder that mainly affects young women and in which the pustules are located around the mouth. It almost always appears due to the use of fluoridated toothpaste or steroids.

Acne Remedies:

The greatest remedy is not to scratch or squeeze the pimples, because popping a pimple means exposing it to infections. It is a common myth that if you squeeze a pimple, it will heal faster. The best thing you can do is not to touch your zits with your fingers and use good quality products to cleanse your face. Apart from this small tip, there are additional ways to cure acne. The topical application of certain substances seems to be very helpful. Just take a look at a few home remedies:

* Turmeric is a very good antiseptic that can clean the build up of bacteria. It also has strong anti-inflammatory properties that can help you treat the inflamed areas of the skin.
* Aloe Vera: aloe can help your skin heal faster and reduce the redness and swelling.

Applying a topical gel or taking an anti-acne supplement that contains these powerful ingredients at high concentrations can help you cure this condition faster. However, you need to keep in mind that in order to eliminate this condition once and for all you will need to achieve hormonal balance.

While it can help remove harmful microorganisms, it will pick up the skin and naturally occurring essential oils which are necessary to maintain smooth and well lubricated skin. Skin Care Tips for Men – Start Caring for Your Skin Today

Posted in skin care physicians on 23.02.12 by Merlyn

Men need to take care of their skin just as much as women do. Even though women’s skin seems more delicate than men’s skin when it comes to environmental influences, both men and women need to clean their skin daily to maintain healthy skin. Many men shy away from proper skin care because they think that taking care of their faces and bodies is something feminine or not manly. Yet if you want to be in good health, you must clean your skin routinely. If you are a man developing a good skin care routine, then here are some helpful tips that you can start using today.

Make certain that you do not over wash your face. You should clean your face regularly, but be careful not to clean it too often. Daily washing your face ought to be all that you require. The simplest, best practice revolves around rinsing off your face with warm water every morning and performing a basic cleansing regimen every evening. Use a gentle cleanser each evening and then, a few times a week, treat your face with an anti-acne product and you should be fine. Doing more than this (excepting if you truly need to), will give you vulnerable and raw skin that is susceptible to agents that clog pores.

Most people also don’t realize that drinking plenty of water and exercising regularly also helps their skin. Drinking water every day will help you to keep healthy; you know this now. But they don’t realize that water is as good for your skin on the outside as it is for your body on the inside. Among the smartest means of ensuring that your skin keeps moist and works the best is to ensure that you consume minimally the daily recommended amount of water. Water enables your skin to battle against bacteria, toxins, and alternate pore clogging agents; water helps your skin to stay flushed as well. Routine exercise will ensure that your body stays strong and in good health.

It will also make you sweat more. Sweat is good because it pushes the toxins out of your body and helps keep your body temperature regulated. And, sweat is a moisturizer!

Think about giving your face an exfoliating treatment several times throughout the week. Shaving actually assists the exfoliating process, so men do not need to exfoliate as much as women. However, you should use a gentle exfoliatng agent about two or three times a week to give your skin a younger appearance. Exfoliating removes the dead and old cells that could clog your pores and cause you to break out more than if you were exfoliating regularly.

Men can practice proper skin care in many different ways. Some men will just purchase a men’s skin care kit to start them off on their routine. Some men will secretly use their girlfriend’s or sister’s products that are already in the bathroom. But if you want a truly successful skin care regimen, you need to use products that are designed for your skin type and a routine that fits into your lifestyle.

The majority of reliable routines for good skin care require just a couple of minutes every evening. That’s what you heard; you only have to put in a couple of minutes to keep healthy looking skin. Isn’t it time to begin now?
